Why Vanuatu is like my hometown… (small town North Carolina)

  • Wagon wheel is played on repeat
  • If you want someone to leave you alone (or act right) you threaten to tell their mama
  • If you want anything done…you go to mama..
  • Everyone has a garden
  • Family is life
  • The childern belong to anyone close enough to discipline them
  • Most people are somehow related
  • Church is where you’ll find everyone on Sunday
  • Anything you do (no matter how small) the whole village (town) will end up knowing (and probably talking) about it
  • Country music is numbawan (number one) !!
  • String bands are basically island bluegrass
  • Pigs are an important aspect of life
  • The genius way one thing that is either bought or found locally for one purpose is used for a million other handy things.
